The History of Sélénite

The Sélénite was born from a dream: to create a unique space where the serenity of nature and a holistic approach to well-being meet. This thermal retreat, located in Eastman in the Eastern Townships, reflects a forward-thinking vision of rest and overall health.

The name "Sélénite" was not chosen at random. Inspired by the soft, luminous stone of the same name, it symbolizes calm, harmony, and peace. Its connection to Selene, the Greek goddess of the Moon, also recalls the gentle, comforting energy that cradles each moment spent in this exceptional place.

More than just a lodge, the Sélénite is a sanctuary. It was designed as a refuge to slow down, reconnect with oneself, and find a deep balance, both physical and emotional. Every detail, from the eco-friendly construction to the thermal facilities, has been designed to offer a unique, rejuvenating experience.

The Founders

Behind this project are Sophie, a pharmacist, and Steven, a nurse specializing in psychiatry, a couple passionate about integrative health, holistic well-being, and nature. Their experience in the healthcare field has allowed them to develop a keen understanding of human needs, whether physical, emotional, or energetic.

It was during their own journey that they felt a calling: to create a place that goes beyond the simple notion of a “stay” to offer true renewal. Sélénite reflects their desire to combine their expertise in global health with their love of nature and hospitality.

Particularly sensitive to the preventative approach to health, they drew on their knowledge to design a healthy environment, in harmony with body and mind. Together, they brought to life a place where each visitor can feel cared for, welcomed with authenticity, and invited to slow down in safety. Sélénite embodies their shared vision of deep and holistic well-being, in a warm and accessible setting for all.
